Ya Nui is just 300 metres long, there is not room for mass development, but there is a small restaurant and a stand renting out snorkelling equipment, kayaks and body boards for much cheaper prices than found elsewhere on Phuket. Many tourists visit the beach during the peak season because of its natural beauty and serenity. During this time, beach vendors make their way onto the beach offering a wider variety of food and drink as well as the chance to buy some souvenirs. The beach road which leads to Rawai houses a number of shops, although these start approximately 500 metres from Ya Nui.
There is a small island known as Koh Keyao Noi which is located just a few hundred metres away from the shore and it is actually possible to paddle to it in a kayak when the water is calm. The island is home to beautiful coral and an abundance of sea life, so be sure to take your snorkelling equipment out with you. Nai Harn is also close by and can be reached by kayak for those looking for a little bit more excitement for a day.
It is not the place to come if you are looking for entertainment. In fact, people arrive for the exact opposite. The beach attracts those looking for peace, quiet and natural beauty.
