Paradise Beach is approximately five kilometres southwest of Patong and as there are no hotels on the beach, many people arrive here from the day for the busier parts of the island. It is very popular with tourists who want to relax in the peace and quiet away from the crowds.
Sun loungers are abundant, although there is only one restaurant on the beach. It serves up Thai and Western food as well as renting out snorkels and other water sport accessories. There are no food vendors so for snacks and other treats; it is wise to bring your own.
Activities available on the beach include snorkelling, sea kayaking and body boarding. There are also longtail boats which can be hired along with a driver for an hour or a day. It is possible to explore Patong Bay as well as further afield, although if the waves are too high the boats will not venture out. Paradise Beach’s main attraction is the coral reef located close to the shore. This can be fully explored with snorkelling equipment.
