Nai Yang beach is just five minutes away from the airport and is the ultimate place to visit for relaxation. It is actually so laid back that there isn’t very much going on at all in the way of daytime activites. However, there is enough to keep most people who visit busy.
Activities
The northern section of the beach is home to a very large reef which acts as a natural breakwater ensuring that swimming is safe all year round. There is snorkelling equipment available for rent to those who want to fully explore the reef. If snorkelling tempts you, then you may like to enjoy some scuba diving. There are two diving schools on Nai Yang beach offering a selection of dive sites. The national park is a must see if you enjoy nature walking. There are many beautiful sights to see and will be countless photo opportunities. There are also cycle tracks and bicycles for rent for those who want to get around faster.
Dining and Nightlife
If you are looking for nightlife and a larger selection of restaurants, the southern end of the beach is home to a small selection of bars, restaurants and just one hotel. However, it is also the working section of the beach so you need to take great care that you do not ruin any of the fisherman’s nets or equipment.
Restaurants in this area serve up a selection of Thai and western favourites at very good prices. Many of them overlook the beach and have outdoor seating so that visitors can enjoy the views. The bigger restaurants are generally open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bars do not open until the evening and are informal, relaxed and good places to chill out and meet the locals..
