  Laem Singh Beach

During the peak winter months, Laem Singh Beach can get fairly crowded. This is due to its small size and limited sun loungers. However, the crowds do not take away from the beauty and it is still enjoyed by all who arrive here.

Activities
The beach itself does not offer a wide range of activities; partially because of its size and partially because people arrive here with the sole intention of relaxing and doing nothing but enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Sun loungers are available to rent by the day for a small fee and there are restaurants located on the beach which will allow you to take food and drink away so that you can eat while still basking in the sun.

Water sports may not be found in abundance, but there are ample opportunities for swimming, boarding and snorkelling. Fish are plentiful in these waters and if you take some left over bread with you into the sea, you will soon be surrounded by dozens of tropical fish all nibbling at you to get more food. It is also possible to rent a kayak and explore the open sea. However remember that you have to come back so if you don’t have a lot of upper body strength it is adviseable to stay close to the shore. Body boards, inflatable rafts and even the odd jet ski can be hired from businesses along the beach. However, these hire shops are only open during the peak season.

If you tire yourself out in the water, there is no better way to relax than having a massage on the beach. There are many Thai massage huts in the shade of the palm trees and an hour’s massage is very reasonable indeed.

Eating and Drinking
Laem Singh is very popular with Italian holiday makers and as a result, many Italian restaurants have opened up along the beach serving a wide variety of pizzas and pastas. Other popular choices include seafood restaurants (of which there are many), Thai restaurants, snack shops and street stalls. Bars are numerous and offer a trendy alternative to many other bars in Phuket.

Throughout the months of November to May, There is a weekly beach party which is known as Soundwave Sunday. International DJs arrive to play to eager crowds and the parties attract people from all around the world including the odd celebrity. The party goes on through the night and is popular with revellers around the island.

Accommodation
There is actually no accommodation on this beach (there is not enough room) but Surin beach is very close and the exclusive resorts on Pansea Beach are ideal for those looking for class and luxury. The facilities on the beach close at about 18:00 every night (with the exception of Sundays) and open early in the morning.
