Located off the east coast of Phuket, Koh Khai Nok is a very small yet picture-perfect island with soft white sand and crystal clear water. From a distance, it does not even look like an island; instead it looks more like a small forest poking its nose out of the sea and impossible to enter. However, upon arrival at the island, visitors soon realise that the sandy beaches are all they actually really need.
The water close to the shore boasts excellent snorkelling opportunities, although it is important to remember that the current can be quite strong at times. There is nowhere to stay on the island, so people generally just visit for the day. It makes an excellent alternative to the busy beaches of Patong, Karon and Kata. At just 20 minutes away from Phuket, it is a great place to visit for the day. All you have to remember is your camera, refreshments and a good book.
